There was disease and people did not live as long. But I believe many had a real reverence towards life. In this case, I've found it very informative to look at the Native American perspective. The recently published book <A HREF="http://www.bauuinstitute.com/Publishing/NewEnglandNative.html" REL="nofollow">A Cultural History of the Native Peoples of Southern New England</A> as it is written by Natives themselves and contains a lot of information on the first Thanksgiving and early relations between the Natives and pilgrims.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
